Matthias C. Huhne

Matthias C. Hühne studied at Harvard University from 1985 to 1989, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

After working for a development company in Vancouver, Canada, the real estate subsidiary of Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt am Main, and as an authorized officer and project manager for the US real estate developer Hines in Berlin, Matthias C. Hühne set up Hühne Development Services GmbH in the summer of 1996.

He has so far been responsible for numerous projects with a total floor area in excess of 500,000 square metres. He is highly experienced in the conceptualization, planning, construction, marketing, financing and management of real estate projects.

For many projects by Hühne Development Services, Matthias C. Hühne himself has set out specifications for their concepts, architecture and standards. “I firmly believe that a superior product will always succeed,” says Hühne, “and our projects to date prove it. Superior in this sense doesn’t necessarily mean luxurious; more accurately, it means matching the project perfectly to the conditions of its future use. A good knowledge of the market and forward-looking approach to planning are essential, as they ensure the risks in a property development project remain manageable.”

In 2014 Hühne once again demonstrated his multifaceted talents when he established the art book publisher Callisto. Their very first book met with immediate international acclaim, receiving positive reviews in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Frankfurt Allgemeine Zeitung, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Monocle magazine and numerous leading publications around the world.

To share his success and nurture upcoming talents, Hühne established his own art and architecture foundation in 2013, the Hühne Stiftung für Kunst und Architektur.
