In 2002 the opportunity arose to revive this architecturally outstanding 1950s building after decades of neglect. Our mission was to bring out the strengths of Haus Hardenberg and combine them seamlessly with contemporary solutions to create an office and retail environment that would meet the needs of the market for many years to come. This required a number of major changes to the appearance of the building, which were designed to be almost indistinguishable from the original structure, even for experts.

Our restoration of Haus Hardenberg was recognised with the National Award for Craftsmanship in the Preservation of Historical Buildings (Bundespreis für Handwerk in der Denkmalpflege).

Well before construction work was complete we were able to lease all of the retail areas to a number of renowned tenants, including Manufactum, a seller of high-quality, traditionally manufactured home and garden goods and accessories as well as food and beverages. All of the ground floor tenants blend well with the character and history of Haus Hardenberg and the offices were also successfully rented out at rent levels near the top of the market. The building was subsequently sold in a share deal to a group of investors from Spain.
