BERLIN-CHARLOTTENBURG

Knesebeckstraße 3

Gross Floor Area: 3.000 square meters
Types of Use: Offices, Retail
Year of Construction: 1965
Revitalization: 2008 - 2009
Design Concept Revitalization: Matthias C. Hühne

This office building in an outstanding location of the western part of Berlin was an example of substandard 1960s architecture, so it was clear from the outset that retaining the existing design was not an option. We set about remodeling it according to plans by Matthias C. Hühne. Inspired by successful examples of classic modernism, the new design is consistent throughout. Building permit applications and working drawings were executed by an experienced architect of record, and the building today meets almost the same high standards as a new one.

Despite the unfavorable circumstances at the height of the financial crisis in early 2009, the entire office space was fully let to excellent tenants in no time at all. The success of this project once again highlights our ability to correctly anticipate tenant demands and translate them into the built environment.
